Native Turning Point (NTP) is a one-year research-based wellbriety program that takes a wholistic approach to treating American Indians (AIs) and Alaska Natives (ANs) struggling with substance abuse and other life-controlling issues. NTP takes an 'indigenist' perspective of health that incorporates the devastating impact of historical trauma and oppression of American Indians, with awareness of cultural and spiritual strengths, and considers the impact of Native American values, histories, and resources upon substance abuse.
